Post Rate The Plate
Rate The Plate "Endager or Intimidate Cyclist" listings here...
http://www.ratetheplate.com.au/driving-offences/intimidate-cyclist/

To get it for Tassy only you have to select from the "Recent Ratings" and "Where" menus above the map on the front page.

It's a shame they don't have a simple link that refines the search by state AND offence.

Anyway, as of the time of this post, there are two cars reported to watch out for...
1. ES 6991, which according to Dier's "<a href="http://www.transport.tas.gov.au/vehicle_registration_status_enquiry">Motor Vehicle Registration Status</a>" page is a blue 2003 Ford Fairmont Ghia (not a Holden Commodore like the RTP member says), and
2. ED 4429, which is recorded by DIER as a white Mercedes bus.

When harassed by a motorist, and intending to make a complaint, note the make and the rego number, DIER's <a href="http://www.transport.tas.gov.au/vehicle_registration_status_enquiry">Registration Status page</a> will fill in the blanks for you, it even tells you if the car is reported stolen. (It's also handy for checking out the status of a car you may be buying, too. ;) )

NOTE: Slight problem with the DIER link, it's only up-to-date as far as August 25 at the moment. Watch for more info on this.

Hmm, this driver, while not a cyclist harasser, doesn't look like somebody I'd want around me while I'm on the bike...

Rate The Plate - CU 2180, a white, 1990 Mitsubishi Magna.

Ah, the universe wants me to have fun with the "new toy" ;)

<a href="http://www.ratetheplate.com.au/TAS/FC9825-history.html">FC9825 - White, 2005 Citroen Berlingo</a> forced me out of left-most lane, missing my right handlebar by less than 150mm in Campbell St, Hobart at 06:25am today. Fortunately there weren't many parked cars. Can't be sure it was deliberate, but it certainly was stupid on his part as we were the only vehicles for "miles".

Rate the plate is down - just displays a dead link saying "Click here to upload a file!. "

I've noticed it's been copping flak on petrol head forums, wonder if they've been threatened with a couple of defamation suits?

Shame, I was just about to report the stupid, arrogant b*tch who allegedly tailgated and horn-blasted me for daring to claim the lane while doing the speed limit... Evil or Very Mad Only just resisted the temptation to give a tit-for-tat slap to the roof as I rode past her stopped at the lights. Gave her a stern look instead, to which she responded with another blast on the horn - making me wish I'd held a key to the side of her car as I passed...

I'm over it now, though Wink

Edit - Vehicle Registration Status for: A-43-DY - SUBARU FORESTER 2004 Blue.
Feel free to give her a friendly wave if you see her out and about, to show that the cyclist community values her feedback on our right to use the road. Use whichever finger you feel appropriate at the time Twisted Evil

That looks more like they've been hacked to me.

Shame Sad

Still, tasmania.police@police.tas.gov.au is a good substitute Twisted Evil

Hadn't thought of that possibility...

Taspol is a bit too much hassle for the little stuff - plus I want the cops to take me seriously when I do need to make a report. I suspect I'd be 'on the list' pretty quickly if I reported every driver who passed too close or yelled out the window... Wink

Did some more Googling and found more references to rate the plate on car forums; seems it was featured on ACA a couple of years ago. Quite hilarious the way some 'motoring enthusiasts' rant about it being open to abuse - then go on to boast about their hooning antics in the same post!
